25 - 26th April in Goteborg (Sweden) was held the 11th Goteborg Open. Jan Rabe from Sweden became the winner. Other prize-winners are Terje Christoffersen
and Richard Bjerke (both Norway). 17 shogi players from Sweden, Belgium, Norway and Italy participated in Goteborg Open

On 8-12 April Moriuchi Tosiyuki participated in chess tournament Foxwoods Open (USA). Moriuchi got 6 pts in 9 games and took the 18th place from
127 participants. He won over FIDE masters Paul Mac Intyre (ELO 2300) and Teddy Coleman (ELO 2313) and played in a draw against IM Robert Hess (ELO 2545)

The 1st game 67th Meijin title match between Habu Yoshiharu (Meijin) and Goda Masataka (Challenger) was held 9-10 April. Habu won the game in 158 moves.
The 2nd game will be played on 21-22 April
