Hungary became the 16th member of FESA. Representatives from Hungary in FESA are Gergely Buglyo and Laszlo Abuczki. Congratulations Hungary!

This time the members of FESA are: Austria, Belarus, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine.

What country will be the next member of FESA. May be Poland?

There were updated FESA webpages. You can find some information about new FESA board elected on FESA meeting (11th July 2008) and about ESC/WOSC 2008 in Pardubice.

It was added information about prize-winners of Blits tournaments (at
page "European Shogi Championships" on FESA webpages) held during ESC/
WOSC from 2000. But information is not completed. If someone have
information to add please send it me by e-mail.

Asle Olufsen updated FESA webpage with tournaments results in 2008. You can see the results of ESC/WOSC 2008 with ratings changes and promotions.

Shogi players from 16 countries participated in FESA tournaments held from 1st January fo 13th July 2008. Number of players from countries are:

Germany - 29 players
France, Sweden, Ukraine - 26 players (each country)
Belarus - 19
The Netherlands - 16
Russia - 12
Hungary - 10
Great Britain - 8
Austria - 7
Japan, Norway - 3 (each)
Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Uzbekistan - 1 (each)

Total number of players participated in FESA tournaments 2008 on 13th July is 189.
