There is one more opportunity to enjoy shogi on your PC, since Shogi Viewer is finally out. This is just an application to replay games in PSN format. I supply the program with games collection, so it could indeed be helpful, even despite the fact that PSN is not the most popular format.

The information about Shogi Viewer you can find at http://lysenka.net/?ShogiViewer

I meant that PSN is not a common shogi file format like KIF.

Yes, it is possible. You should download games in text format, save this text file with .psn extention and locate it to the application data folder.

And you can go to "Player stat" - "Games' on the PlayOK. Then "download games in text format", unzip and rename txt-file to psn-file. And you can see all games of player from 6 last month.

Thanks for the explanations in details. Now MS Windows users have the tool to replay the games played at PlayOK anytime if they download the games to their local discs within 6 month after the date of play.

I really like your program, this can be a great help for European players.

Is it possible to add another skin for the pieces? like the one on shogidojo, I think it's hard to see every piece, and could you add an option to auto playback a kifu? you could set to make every new move in some seconds like a picture viewer:)

I have fixed a major bug that causes more than 1000 games in the collection to have errors in score. So I recommend Shogi Viewer users download the latest versions both the application and games collection (I also added 370 new games). You can find it at
http://lysenka.net/?ShogiViewer .

Hello Andrei,

your Shogi Viewer is quite nice, but I would like it to have one important feature:
Could you produce a version with a larger board and larger pieces?
The way it is now is just toooooo small to be really useful (at least for me and my eyes).
Or is there a work around this problem?

Greetings,
Thomas

thanks for your program. I remember the old program and was very useful in my pbmgamerz games.

Sure the big problem for all shogi player are the diferent notation, do you find the .kif and the .psn and .csa, etc, etc.

Who have a convert software to all this notations?

and what about different psn, 1.p7f p3d, or p7f p3d, or 1.p76 p34 etc, etc

Can we add "comentaries" to the .psn files? Wich games in the 10000+ database has comentaries?

thanks for you help

Maybe this side helps you: Shogi program compare
I listed only the interesting programs for ME (!!!). If there is an important/good program missing, please tell it to me.

PSN is realy a pain.
It's time to replace it by a (much) better format. There were a lot of discussion about it in Shogi-L, but never anyone started doing it.
The stupid thing is, that anybody made own changes to the specification.
So there are for example the following moves possible: G3h, Gx, xG, G2h-3h, G23h, ...
Brackets "(" and ")" are used for comentar, but Shogidokoro decide to use it for movetime, Eric uses own style for movetime, ...

I tried to make my program possible to read all PSN-files. If you find any not loaded, than tell it and send it to my.
(By the way: I'm not sure, but I believe my program needs uppercase for pieces (L, N, S, ...) and can not read lowercase as in your example. And the style "G34" is not implemented, but I never saw such PSN-files. If there realy exists such PSN-files, tell it to me also, please)

It's realy time to kill PSN and use a much better new format!
