Shogi prospect

At 3rd october has been started 1st Olympiade in Beijing. There are 5 following games: go, chess, bridge, draughts and chinese chess. There is no shogi unfortunately. I think shogi are not accepted by IMSA (International Ming Sports Association) so cannot be played at Olympiade. My idea is simply. We should collect as many signatures as possible below petition about introduction shogi to the next World Mind Sport games. LET'S UNITE ALL SHOGI-PLAYERS IN THE WORLD AND SIGN OUR PETITION. Well we haven't petition yet but I don't see any problems because Andrei is President of FESA. Write your oppinions!

I think it can be a good idea. But at first we can speak about it in Japan this November.

go 60 milion players
bridge 100 milion players
xiangqi 200 milion players
chess 300 milion players

How many players play in shogi in Japan and outsite Japan??

At first the place of 2nd Olympiade would be defined. And then we would decide what we have to do. As I understand Tokyo will be one of candidates on Olympiade carrying out. The most serious opponent is Chicago from USA. If Tokyo becomes a place of carrying out of the Olympiade there is no problem for shogi. In other case we will have to make efforts that shogi have included in the Olympiade program.
